Proudly Born In New Zealand
Our journey began on a sunny day, chasing the summer run of Albacore Tuna off the coast of our beloved Wellington, NZ.
On what began as a leisurely mission, we were out there slowly towing lures, sipping on refreshing beverages, and watching the hours tick by. And then, just when we least expected it, chaos erupted. The reels started screaming in unison – fish on! It was a mad scramble as we all reached for rods and gaffs, and in the midst of the frenzy, drinks went flying, spilling all over the place. Out there on the high seas, we simply had nowhere safe to set them down.
And that's precisely where the lightbulb moment struck us. Why not create a stubby holder with a neck strap, a simple yet ingenious solution to keep our drinks secure while we battled the fish? That's when the Adventure Buddy was born, and with it, the birth of Doon River.
Our mission is straightforward: to craft clever gifts and accessories for folks who have a deep love for the great outdoors.
